DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The teacher is responsible for delivering an educational program to students under the direction of the School Site Principal and may be required to participate in other school programs.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

A teacher who demonstrates interpersonal qualities such as being open-minded, impartial, consistent, emotionally balanced, and having a sense of humor is essential for creating a positive classroom environment.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

Pupils receive education in reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, health, art, physical education, music, and citizenship under the guidance of the teacher who teaches by following the curriculum authorized by the Board of Education and other relevant educational materials.
Structures learning experiences that motivate pupils and maximize time spent on instruction.
Promotes and upholds guidelines for student behavior that are imperative for cultivating a healthy and constructive learning environment within the classroom.
Measures the academic and social development of students, keeps meticulous records, prepares in-depth progress reports, and stays in regular contact with parents to keep them informed about each student's achievements.
In collaboration with other education professionals, assesses the needs of students and implements the required strategies to resolve health, attitude, and learning-related concerns.
In collaboration with pupils, crafts a functional and visually appealing educational space, utilizing engaging displays, informative bulletin boards, and interactive interest areas.
Executes elementary attendance accounting and commercial tasks as needed.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Procures teaching aids, learning resources, and related supplies, with the additional responsibility of recording inventory.
Maintains a pleasant living space by regulating the heating, lighting, and airflow as much as feasible.
Oversees students outside of traditional classroom settings.
In compliance with the district's testing program, the group standardized test is administered.
Contributes to the design and implementation of developmental programs at both the school and district level.
Contributes to funding student initiatives and is involved in faculty associations.
My role as an assistant entails designing and overseeing the activities of aides, teacher assistants, and other paraprofessionals.
Participates in social hygiene and outdoor education programs in conjunction with other staff members.

EDUCATION AND CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Appropriate credential as required by the District and the State for the position.
