DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The delivery of an educational program is the primary concern of the teacher, who, with the oversight of the School Site Principal, also participates in additional school programs as assigned.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

A teacher who demonstrates interpersonal qualities such as being open-minded, impartial, consistent, emotionally balanced, and having a sense of humor is essential for creating a positive classroom environment.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

The teacher imparts knowledge in reading, language arts, social studies, math, health, art, physical education, music, and citizenship to pupils by following the prescribed curriculum of the Board of Education and other relevant educational resources.
Creates learning experiences that motivate students and maximize time spent on instruction.
Maintains and promotes expectations of appropriate student behavior, which are fundamental to building a positive and constructive classroom setting.
Monitors the academic and social development of pupils, keeps precise records, compiles in-depth progress reports, and maintains ongoing communication with parents to provide regular updates on individual student achievements.
Works effectively with other professionals to evaluate the needs of students and adopt appropriate measures to tackle any challenges related to their health, attitude, or learning.
In collaboration with pupils, crafts a functional and visually appealing educational space, utilizing engaging displays, informative bulletin boards, and interactive interest areas.
Carries out primary attendance record-keeping and administrative functions as necessary.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collects and arranges for the delivery of books, instructional tools, and classroom resources, and documents inventory.
Maintains comfortable living quarters by monitoring and adjusting the heating, lighting, and ventilation as necessary.
Watches over pupils while they participate in activities away from the classroom setting.
The administration of the group standardized test is in accordance with the district's standardized testing program.
Contributes to the design and implementation of developmental programs at both the school and district level.
Provides financial aid for student endeavors and collaborates in faculty councils.
As part of my duties, I am in charge of coordinating the duties of teacher aides, assistants, and other support staff.
Collaborates with other professionals to promote social hygiene and outdoor education initiatives.

EDUCATION AND CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Appropriate credential as required by the District and the State for the position.
