Under the supervision of a manager or designated employee, the Substitute Clerical/Secretary carries out a range of routine clerical tasks, may provide basic information to the public, and can fill in for positions of the same or higher classification during vacations or absences.
Familiarity with current office methods, practices, and procedures; proficiency with computer systems; and a strong understanding of English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, correspondence formats, and filing systems.
Carry out clerical tasks quickly and accurately; comprehend and follow both oral and written instructions; efficiently exchange information over the phone using clear, polite communication; operate a multi-line telephone switchboard; type accurately at a minimum speed of 45 words per minute; and collaborate effectively with others.
Two years experience in general office work.
Graduation from high school, including courses in typing and office practice.
