Title: Noon Duty Supervisor

Reports To: School/Site Manager

Department: Academic Achievement & Accountability (AAA)

Work Year: 180 Days per year or as assigned

Classification: Classified

Date Approved: February 2007

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

Maintain high visibility around the campus during the noon recess, in designated areas.
Supervise children on the yard, in the cafeteria, playground and in other areas as assigned.
Communicate concerns to appropriate staff members.
Monitor potential troubled areas and intervene in cases of unsafe behavior.
Apply the school site discipline policy and student conduct code consistently.
Perform related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year experience working with school age students is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

KNOWLEDGE OF:

First aid and CPR is desirable
General principles of child development is desirable.

ABILITY TO:

Respond effectively in a variety of situations and use good judgment.
Assess situations quickly and problem solve or make appropriate referrals and/or seek assistance.
Work effectively and cooperatively with students and staff in mutually respectful relationship.
Learn rapidly the District's Standards of Student Behavior and other policies and regulations relating to the supervision of school students and school safety. Apply the Standards of Student Behavior with consistency.
Communicate effectively with a wide variety of personalities and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Follow oral and written directions.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Indoor and outdoor environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but occasionally loud.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Frequency Key None (1); Occasional - up to 25% of shift (2); Intermittently

up to 50% of shift (3); Frequently- up to 75% of shift (4).
