DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Under the supervision of the assigned supervisor, carries out various kitchen tasks, including preparing, packaging, and serving food, as well as cleaning utensils, dishes, and equipment.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

• Assist in the preparation of food items.
• Clean tables or counters and assist in maintaining proper care of equipment and sanitation of kitchen. 
• Package food on an assembly line. 
• Operate kitchen equipment. 
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots and pans, and other kitchen equipment. 
• Serve meals at school sites. 
• Perform cashiering duties manually or utilizing computerized cash register system. 
• Heat meals in commercial warming equipment. 
• Perform other related duties as assigned. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in quantity food preparation or service is desirable

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

KNOWLEDGE OF:

• Basic methods of quantity food preparation.
• Proper serving and storage of food

ABILITY TO:

• Perform tasks as defined above.
