DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Teachers are accountable for creating and implementing an educational plan for students while collaborating with the School Site Principal. They are also expected to contribute to other school programs whenever necessary.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrates high regards and compassion for students, guardians, co-workers, and other administrative colleagues. Crucial aspects are open-mindedness, impartiality, uniformity, good humor, and emotional stability to build a congenial atmosphere.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

  • Teaches reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, health, art, physical education, music and citizenship to pupils, utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriated learning activities. May teach a foreign language.
  • Purposefully designed learning experiences are implemented to inspire pupils and make the most of the time allocated for instruction.
  • Ensures a proper learning ambience in the classroom by implementing and maintaining behavioral expectations for pupils.
  • The objective is to measure the academic and social advancement of students, keep detailed records, produce progress reports, and communicate with parents about each child’s progress.
  • Supports the evaluation and resolution of academic, health, and attitude issues in pupils in collaboration with other staff members.
  • Facilitates the creation of an efficient and inviting learning environment through the development of informative displays, announcement boards, and stimulating areas for pupils.
  • Performs fundamental activities related to attendance tracking and other essential business operations.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Handpicks and procures books, training materials, and educational supplies, while also maintaining essential inventory paperwork.
  • Controls the heating, lighting and ventilation in a room to promote a comfortable environment.
  • Takes charge of pupils during off-campus events and activities in the assigned timeframe.
  • Executes the district's testing program through the administration of standardized tests to groups.
  • Shows involvement in curriculum and other developmental initiatives through district-level or school-based programs.
  • Provides funding for student events and takes an active role in faculty groups.
  • My role as an overseer is to coordinate the work of paraprofessionals like aides and teacher assistants, enabling them to work in partnership with the teacher to improve student learning outcomes.
  • Engages with other staff members in executing the social hygiene and outdoor education efforts.

EDUCATION AND CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Appropriate credential as required by the District and the State for the position.
