DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

A teacher delivers an educational program to students at the direction of the School Site Principal and may be designated additional responsibilities pertaining to school programs.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An educator who values the well-being of their students, parents, coworkers, and superiors displays respect and consideration. Flexibility, impartiality, constancy, positivity, and emotional composure are all critical traits.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

  • The educator delivers instructions to students in various subjects like reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, health, art, physical education, music, and citizenship based on the curriculum approved by the Board of Education and other suitable educational content.
  • Orchestrates planned educational experiences to engage students and efficiently utilize available instructional time.
  • Creates and upholds regulations for student conduct in order to foster an effective and productive learning environment within the class.
  • Monitors the academic and social progression of pupils, maintains precise documentation, compiles detailed progress reports, and maintains ongoing communication with parents to provide regular updates on individual student performance.
  • Collaborates with other education professionals to identify the individual needs of pupils and helps them overcome academic, behavioral, and health-related concerns.
  • Works together with students to create an immersive and visually stimulating classroom atmosphere, incorporating striking displays, informative boards, and interactive learning opportunities.
  • Executes fundamental attendance-related bookkeeping and administrative duties as necessary.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acquires books, educational materials, and instructional resources as needed and keeps track of inventory records.
  • Controls heating, lighting, and ventilation to the fullest extent possible to ensure a comfortable setting within the room.
  • Monitors students during extracurricular activities throughout the day.
  • The administration of the group standardized test is conducted according to the district's standard testing program.
  • Takes part in educational activities and developmental initiatives both at the school level and district level.
  • Supports student activities through investments and participates in faculty organizations.
  • It is within the scope of my responsibilities to oversee and arrange the tasks of aides, teacher assistants, and other paraprofessionals.
  • Engages in social hygiene and outdoor education activities together with fellow staff members.

EDUCATION AND CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Appropriate credential as required by the District and the State for the position.
